About UK Gigafactories & Battery Plants
Battery plant builds need civils first, then a heavy wave of process, cleanroom and automation specialists who often travel from overseas for the commissioning phase.
We handle whole-crew placements with company invoicing, and we can add or release beds as the phases change.

Local guide
Gigafactories Accommodation: Local Guide
Battery plant construction and fit-out concentrates in Somerset, Sunderland and the Midlands, and Somerset demand competes directly with Hinkley Point C.
Getting to site
Bridgwater and Taunton serve the Somerset gigafactory. Sunderland and Washington cover the North East battery cluster. Coventry and Warwickshire serve the Midlands automotive supply chain.
Parking & vehicles
Large sites with managed parking, but crews still need vehicle space at the property. Driveway parking is standard on the houses we use in all three areas.
Everyday living
Sunderland and Coventry are easy urban bases. Somerset is tighter and more seasonal, so early booking matters most there.
Shifts & rotations
Construction phases run long day shifts; fit-out and commissioning move to double shifts near handover.
Practical pointers for Gigafactories teams
- Somerset stock competes with Hinkley — treat lead time as your main risk.
- Coventry works well for supply-chain engineers visiting multiple plants.
- Ask about rolling monthly terms as the programme moves from build to commissioning.
