About Heathrow Expansion & Terminal Upgrades

Heathrow's expansion and rolling terminal upgrade programme keeps a large, permanent contractor population in west London — baggage systems, airside civils, MEP fit-out, security infrastructure and utilities diversions.

Airside passes and early shift starts mean crews need to be close to the perimeter. We base teams in Hounslow, Staines, Slough and Uxbridge so nobody is fighting the M25 at 05:00.

Getting to site

Hounslow and Feltham are minutes from the northern perimeter and cargo area. Staines and Ashford are the sensible base for southern perimeter and T4 works. Slough and Uxbridge give better value and easy M4/M25 access.

Parking & vehicles

Airport parking is expensive and controlled, so property parking is the priority. Slough and Uxbridge stock generally has the most reliable off-street space.

Everyday living

The whole area is well served for shopping and food, and the properties we use have full kitchens so crews are not eating airport-priced meals every night.

Shifts & rotations

Airside and night-shift works are common because of flight restrictions. Quiet properties with blackout provision matter for teams sleeping in the day.

Practical pointers for Heathrow teams

Tell us if the crew is airside — night working changes which properties are suitable.
Slough is usually the best value per bed with a short M4 run in.
Ask for properties away from the main flight paths if the team is day-sleeping.
